What is yoga?
Yoga is defined as a complementary, alternative medical practice, also known as CAM. It is a type of lifestyle and practice of physical strengthening and stretching based on Ancient Indian traditions. Yoga consists of strengthening, posture balance, flexibility, breathing practices,and meditation.
What does science say?
In a recent sleep study by the University of Washington's Department of Biobehavioral Nursing and Health observed 13 older women with sleep disturbances particiapating in a 75 min Yoga program for 8 weeks, to see the effects of Yoga on sleeping habits.

Studies saw that women with sleep disturbances had "significant improvments in several self report sleep outcomes". (Taibi, D.M.,Vitiello, M.V.,University of Washington, Seatte.(2010).

Other self reported data from participants was; reduced joint pain, relaxation, and lastly improved sleep.

Participants of the study also reported that they enjoyed the Yoga program and still continue to participate.
